Canadian Player Hits A 7 Million Progressive
April 21, 2015The leading online casino software provider Microgaming has confirmed that its Mega Moolah progressive slot has been hit at a mountainous €5,375,695.08. The winner was a Canadian player named Mark A, whose take home in Canadian currency amounted to over CAD 7 million. The day which Mark will undoubtedly remember forever was April 9.
There are several interesting facets about this win. Mark hit the progressive jackpot from his mobile device playing on the HTML5 version of Mega Moolah. Though Mega Moolah has recorded bigger wins at online casinos, this was the biggest ever mobile win from a single spin. Mark was playing from the mobile casino of Royal Vegas, an online gambling site popular with Canadian players. He had joined Royal Vegas just seven days before the big hit. There have been several cases of players registering big hits soon after signing up at an online or mobile casino, but none as big as this. Microgaming delivers the entire amount in a single cash payout rather than an annuity, so Mark has become an instant millionaire several times over.
John Quinn, Head of Casino at Microgaming, said that they had been watching the progressive ticker surge rapidly over the last few weeks. Anticipation was building as to when it was going to strike. That the jackpot was again hit via a mobile device shows how prevalent mobile gaming has become. Quinn offered his congratulations to Mark on becoming one of the biggest jackpot winners in Microgaming’s history. A spokesperson for Royal Vegas also released a statement. One of the senior VIP executive hosts had the pleasure of phoning Mark to confirm the win and to congratulate him. Mark was obviously in a state of elation. The spokesperson said, “Everyone here at Royal Vegas would like to congratulate Mark on this mammoth and historic win.”
Mega Moolah is a four tier progressive jackpot. Just a day before another Royal Vegas player named Julius M had hit one of the smaller level jackpots. Perhaps Mark was destined for the big one. Julius was also playing on mobile, but the Android version of the slot game. Julius took home € 23,338. Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network is the largest in the industry. To date it has paid out over €487 million. Other progressive slots to look out for are Cash Splash and Major Millions. Both these have 3-reel versions and 5-reel versions networked to the same progressive jackpot.
